The month of July is a celebration of freedom in the United States. It is a reminder of our brave forefathers who came to a new land looking for freedom to worship God without control by the government. The seeds they sowed into the foundation of our country to love and serve God were good seeds, and they have born good fruit in our land for many years. We have reaped blessings because of the faith and sacrifices of those who went before us.
Sinful seeds have also been sown. Slavery, greed, domination, inequality and many other generational sins, were sown by our ancestors. Those seeds have also born fruit in our land with destructive consequences to our families, churches and communities.
There is good news! Christ came to set the captives free. By His sacrifice, He secured our place and purpose in His Kingdom, which cannot be taken or shaken. In Christ, by His Spirit, you are free to be who He made you to be and accomplish the purpose you were designed to fulfill. In Christ, the Law is fulfilled and the veil is removed. Through regular prayer and intimacy with Him, you are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory!
It is only by His Spirit that we can know Him as He really is. It is only by His revelation that we can see others as He sees them. It is only by His Spirit that we can be unified and truly free. People of God, there are many problems facing us. By His Spirit, with unveiled faces we can be part of the solution. Let us repent of the generational sins that have held us captive. Let us receive His healing, bringing freedom and transformation to our families, churches and world.
