What Has God Asked You To Do?

Recently I was pondering the world events. Wars and rumors of wars. Division. Hatred. Worship of sex, fame, politics, religion, animals, money, power, addiction and more. The conflict in the world is real. It would be easy for fear, depression, anger, or anxiety to take over. It would seem the battle is being fought on so many different fronts, how do we make a difference? As believers how are we to respond?

I asked this of the Lord, and His answer came to my spirit. It has stayed on repeat in my spirit. “Blessed is the one who is found doing what the Master has asked, when He returns.” In context the passage of Scripture goes like this:

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him. Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in His household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, He will put him in charge of all his possessions. (Matt. 24:44-47)

The Lord continues to emphasize this word.

So, in these times how are we to respond?

Be ready. Be prayerfully alert, surrendered to the Spirit of God. Expect the unexpected. Expect to see God move.
Be faithful and wise. Stay in the Word of God daily. Know what He says.
Do what He has asked you to do. Get rid of all passivity and excuses. Do the work.

What assignment has He given you? Who has He entrusted to you to teach, encourage, lead, or serve? What food has He asked you to provide for others through teaching, training, workshops, websites, writing, songs, art, theater, film, dance, mentoring or another avenue?

You cannot fight every battle. You are not called to every front. But you are called to something. If each of us does what the Lord has called us to, and perseveres in it, we will be found faithful when He returns.

What has He asked you to do? It is time to do it.
