The Journey of You - Part 1

May 29 / Allison Weaver
The journey of you is extensive and exciting. Scientists, theologians, and thousands of
people worldwide have spent years, decades, even entire lifespans studying every part
of human existence. Finding those who agree is not always easy; in fact, the division
seems to be getting wider when it comes to agreeing on what, when, and how we are
made.
Entire religions are built around who we are, who we are supposed to be, and why we were created. Even those within their chosen religion disagree as to the level, type, or way things should happen, how we “should” act, and why we are here. It is all-
encompassing question to ask. “Why were we created, and where did we come from?”

One thing we can all agree on is that the human experience is complicated. As Christians, we know humans have been crafted by an awe-inspiring Creator. According to scripture (Genesis 1:27), we are created to reflect the image of the Trinity.
We are built in the image of God, who is a three-part being: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are created three in one: Spirit, soul, and body.
We are first created as a spirit and placed into a body. Our soul develops as we grow.
With this comes even more questions. Questions that we find answers to over time as we mature and inquire as to how we are transforming. At times, we notice nothing, but one day we wake to situations, ideas, thoughts, and reactions that pique our curiosity.

You may have had a question in the back of your mind about why certain things happen
within your emotions or body but keep it in the background until it becomes necessary
to address. We wonder why our nervous systems react negatively to certain things and not others.
Why do we shake when one person walks into the room and not another? One movie gives us nightmares, and a similar one brings no reaction at all? A seemingly innocent comment will send shockwaves of fear, anger, or other emotions raging through your body.

Physical illness can become a turning point in many lives. Once we reach the point of
physical illness, we are usually ready to discover the “why” behind our lives. The answer has always been there, but we are not always in the right space mentally, emotionally, or
even physically to dive into it. God knows the right timing and will allow circumstances to point us to where He knows we need to look. He allows something to surface and shines His light on it so we can find healing.

Discovering why you do what you do without thinking, why you react the way you do, is what prayer ministry is about. It is both fascinating and eye-opening; an opportunity to not only see “what makes you tick” but also allows for healing, encouragement, safety,
and change if needed. Fear can be eradicated once it is exposed to the truth, as can addiction, negative thought patterns, motives, and actions. Your life will change forever once the Lord reveals the “why” behind your behavior and brings the healing needed.

Instantaneous restoration can happen in certain areas but takes longer in others. It does not change who you are, but it reveals who you were created to be.
The questions are as endless as the directions we could take on the journey of you.
Curious to see what God will reveal? Allow us to help you on your journey of discovery.
